This song was originally conceived by Adam's friend Jerry during a time when Jerry's relative was in the final stages of life. They both took the song to Steve to put the finishing touches on the second verse as Steve was walking through a similar struggle with one of his family members. The end result was a beautiful song that gives honor both to our lost loved ones and to the Lord while providing comfort to those left behind. As the last line so perfectly puts it, "I have run the race and kept the faith and now I'm home." Amen.

lyrics

Seems so long I have waited to see the other side
Where scars don't last forever, angry words forgotten
Tears fade away, my night becomes day
When I'm home with You when I'm home

Take me home, take me home
My journey is completed
Take this life that I lived here with You
Many miles side by side
Some were hard, but many sweeter
Come and take my hand and lead me home

Into marv'lous light I'm running, safely in Your arms
Be a shelter for my love ones a comfort in this moment
Until we meet again just on the other side
When we're home with You, when we're home

I have run the race
And kept the faith
And now I'm home
